About Us
The Student and Resident (SR) section of the American College of Medical Quality (ACMQ) was launched in February 2007 and is rapidly growing. We encourage all physicians-in-training with an interest in medical quality issues to sign-up, learn more and help improve our health care system. ACMQ feels strongly that the future of the specialty lies with physicians-in-training that are dedicated to a better health care system, and we are therefore committed to making membership affordable and rewarding.

Membership fees are significantly discounted for this select category and are contingent only on proving your current status as a student, resident or fellow. As the newest section of ACMQ, members are encouraged to sign-up for SR section leadership positions to help shape the future of the college. In addition, only SR members are eligible for the National Quality Scholar Awards.

SR Section Goals

• Bring together medical students and physicians-in-training around their common interest in health care quality measurement and improvements;
• Excite and engage these students and their peers in the areas of health care quality;
• Educate young physicians and physicians-in-training about the important role that health care quality topics play in every specialty of medicine;
• Further the integration of medical quality topics into medical school and residency training programs;
• Reward students who have demonstrated exceptional accomplishments in health care quality measurement and improvement via annual student and resident awards;
